Inspirational art, live entertainment, great food and more…

Get connected with art, apps and “da” truth during Youth Arts Night on May 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the official welcome at 7 p.m.

Join in the festivities with family and friends as we celebrate Vaughan’s emerging young artists and performers. Students, residents and visitors are all welcome to attend this free event at Vaughan City Hall.

Evening highlights include:

  • From Where I Stand — on the SLATE art exhibition in the City Hall Atrium Gallery. Featured artwork by students from the St. Elizabeth Catholic high school regional arts program interprets urban and suburban landscapes through the lens of contemporary culture. These pieces offer insight into complex relationships and perspectives.
  • TakingITGlobal. What connects you Canada? Have your voice heard in a cross-country dialogue on history and culture with guest speaker Jennifer Corriero, co-founder and executive director of an exciting new app called @Explore150. Download the free app and share your corner of the country!
  • Coco LaRain – Inspired by Coco. Motivational speaker and life skills coach Coco LaRain inspires youth to “live life” through engagement in education and arts programming.
  • The B.E.L.L.A.S. Performing Arts Troupe. Be inspired by the B.E.L.L.A.S. Performing Arts Troupe as they share “da” truth about the challenges and the triumphs of today’s youth through dance, drama, spoken-word poetry and song.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Shamaia aka DJ Afroditee.

The City of Vaughan proudly supports the creativity of youth City-wide with National Youth Arts Week from May 1 to 7.
