Vaughan hosts not-for-profit fair
Not-for-profit organizations tackle important issues facing our communities every day. However, many not-for-profit executives at these organizations need tools, training and an entrepreneurial edge to become more successful and efficient.
To help these important civic actors, the Vaughan Business Enterprise Centre (VBEC) has partnered with the York Entrepreneurship Development Institute (YEDI) to train existing not-for-profit executives in York Region. The 12-week course provides lessons on communication skills, financial projecting and effective revenue generation strategies to help them develop a sound business model and plan to present to potential funders.
This is the second cohort of not-for-profit executives to receive training at the City of Vaughan. They will complete their program by presenting to the public on June 29 at Vaughan City Hall in the Multi-Purpose Room from 9:30 a.m. to noon. A networking opportunity will follow. This group of participants represents organizations in the arts, environmental protection, heritage preservation, professional association and family and social support.
Join us and find out what Vaughan citizens are doing in the not-for-profit sector and learn how to get involved.
