Attention all aspiring lifeguards!

Vaughan now conducting wet interviews for lifeguard and instructor positions

Last week, the Recreation and Culture department’s aquatic team, in partnership with other York Region municipalities, hosted #YRACspringthing2015 at the Vellore Village Community Centre. More than 150 lifeguards, instructors and aquatic staff from municipalities across the GTA and beyond participated in wet and dry professional development workshops.

Highlights:

  • Lessons learned: talking about aquatic incidents in our communities
  • Latin American drumming jam and team-building session
  • Cool water workout: ‪‎SUP (stand-up paddle boarding) courtesy of Makai Paddle Surf
  • Psychological first aid following a physical injury‪

The City of Vaughan operates Ontario’s sixth largest lifesaving program, fifth largest leadership training program and eighth largest first aid program … and we’re always hiring!
