Volunteers have an incredible impact on the health and well-being of a community. By donating their time and energy to important causes, they are contributing to the success and quality of life in the City of Vaughan.
Every year, the City’s non-profit organizations and community groups are invited to nominate one individual each whose passion and actions make a distinct impact in the community. In celebration of National Volunteer Week, Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council recognized the efforts of 66 local volunteers at a special ceremony at Vaughan City Hall on April 16.
Family and friends attended the special event as the award recipients received a volunteer recognition certificate and lapel pin from Mayor Bevilacqua. The festivities also included a performance by Alexandra Tersigni, a Grade 11 student and Vaughan resident, who sang the national anthem.
