New Recruits Join Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service

Ceremony Held for 25 Graduates

Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service welcomed 25 new firefighters today in a special ceremony at the Trio Sportsplex in Vaughan. Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council, fire Chief Larry Bentley, Interim City Manager Barbara Cribbett, along with friends and family members, were there to celebrate the new recruits.

Mayor Bevilacqua participated in the presentation of the certificates to the graduates for their completion of the 12-week Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service Recruit Training Program. The Mayor and Members of Council, along with fire Chief Bentley, also honoured recent promotions within the fire service. Newly-appointed officers were presented with their designated helmets by the fire chief and Mayor Bevilacqua.
