Take Advantage of Advance Voting in Vaughan

Municipal Election Day in Vaughan is Monday, Oct. 27, 2014. That doesn’t mean you have to wait until that day to cast your ballot though. Eligible residents have several opportunities to vote prior to Voting Day.

Importance of voting
Voting is a fundamental right of our democracy. When you vote, you are selecting the people who will make the laws and policies that determine how our City functions and how we live and work together.

Municipal government is involved in many aspects of our daily lives – maintaining roads and sidewalks, providing clean water, collecting waste and recycling, clearing the snow, caring for children and seniors, running public transit, supporting the arts and protecting residents.

Every vote counts and every vote matters. All you need is one piece of identification with your name and address. After you vote, hand your completed ballot to the election official and watch as your ballot is fed into the vote tabulator and your vote is registered. It’s simple, accurate and secure.

Where and when to take advantage of advance voting
Take advantage of advance voting on Oct. 11 and 12, or Oct. 14 through Oct. 21 at one of eight convenient locations and times. These include Vaughan City Hall, community centres, Promenade Shopping Centre, Vaughan Mills and York University.

For a complete list of dates and times, please visit vaughan.ca/elections.

All advance voting locations in the City of Vaughan will use a “vote anywhere” approach which will allow any qualified Vaughan elector to vote at ANY one of the locations, regardless of the ward in which they live.

All voting places will be physically accessible throughout the election, however, if you have special needs marking a ballot please come to one of the advance voting locations at City Hall, Father Ermanno Bulfon Community Centre, Dufferin Clark Community Centre or York University during the advance vote period.
